Shipbuilding is a low extraordinary of China’s manufacturing industry. China is a major shipbuilding country, the traditional flame cutting, plasma cutting, shear processing and laser cutting has failed to meet the industry’s demand for precision, cutting the slightest skew, burrs and other problems may lead to a ship accident. Laser cutting has many advantages such as no effect on raw materials, high precision, high safety factor, no need for secondary processing, etc., which can perfectly solve the industry’s pain points: easy to hang slag, large deformation when cutting thin plates, higher operating costs and other issues.
Pipe cutting in the industry is mainly dominated by round pipes up to 200mm with the requirement of gradient bevel cutting. Gradient bevel is an advanced laser cutting mode, commonly used in cutting coherent holes, elliptical holes, coherent line end, elbow (shrimp section) and so on.
Take the common tee splice welding as an example: when fixed-angle bevel cutting tee, there are problems such as large gaps, missing arcs, etc., and it is difficult to process the later splicing, while the gradient bevel cutting will be based on the parameters and paths such as pipe radius, intersection angle, etc., and carry out the variable-angle bevel cutting, so as to make the end joints between the round tube and the round tube reach a perfect fit to achieve a seamless splicing. Subsequently, in the welding of carbon steel and alloy steel, it can reduce welding deformation, reduce the sensitivity of cracks, improve the mechanical properties of the joints, and improve production efficiency.
Gradient bevel cutting is characterized by fast speed, no burr, smooth cutting edge and high efficiency. Widely used in the production of metal structural parts, power equipment, boiler industry, petroleum, chemical and other industrial sectors. Especially: oil, gas, liquefied gas and other fluid pipelines, pressure vessels and so on.
